Completed top-lit side extension and restoration of original fenestration

Restored bay window fenestration, original opening size (height), window cill and stuccowork

Before (1970s alterations to the original fenestration and size of openings)

FINCHLEY,

External works of Extension and Fenestration Restoration

Restoration of fenestration of front facade as original including size of openings, cills and stucco surrounds; Timber pillasters in a typical Victorian idiom were introduced in the restored bay window to support its roof and entertain its appearance while avoiding the unsustainable expediture of restoring the lost cast iron supports seen in the other half of the pair;

Introduction of narrow side extension with a fully glazed roof behind a front, which replicates typical set - back entrance of period with fanlight and stucco surround to front entrance, to enable re-modelling of the interior*.
